Seminar on "Pathways for Producing Healthy Foods" was held on May 17

On May 17, 2013 a  seminar on "Pathways for Producing Healthy Foods" was held in Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture. The seminar was carried out by Isfahan Cardiovascular Research Center. Isfahan Food and Drug administration, Institute of Standards & Industrial Research of Iran (Isfahan branch) and Food, Industry, Health Society (FIHS), in which more than 100 representatives of parties involved in food production were invited. The seminar was financially supported by Arman Denesh Sina.

After chanting of Holy Quran, Dr. Shahedi, head of FIHS introduced the NGO as a society that its policy is to provide a ground for industry to produce safe and sound foods for the consumers. Later Dr. Sarrafzadegan, senior member of the society, talked about "the role of diet in prevention of chronic, non-contagion diseases". After a short break, Dr. Shahedi expressed his presentation in two sections about "Hurdle and Functional Foods", respectively. At the end Dr. Kadivar member of FIHS, discussed the "impact of ethics in food production and consumption". The next meeting has been scheduled for May 27 in which the general assembly will elect 17 members for the next tenure of the board.
